Students

I have worked with many students interested in bioarcheaology, anthropology, and archaeology over the years. I’ve advised graduate students, undergraduate students in the senior honors program, and students from local high schools in Nashville. These students get hands on experience in the Osteology Lab and Bioarchaeology Stable Isotope Research Lab (BSIRL). They have learned various aspects of the research process, including proper handling of human remains, skeletal analysis, data management, dental and bone preparations, chemical prep of archaeological and environmental samples. Many of them have gone on trips to Peru and worked on excavations, sample collection, and other research programs. Students often obtain grants to support those field and lab projects.
